Every season brings different beauties to a wedding, whether it’s a floral backdrop, gorgeous weather or picturesque scenery. However, the cool temperatures of winter can steer some away. Just because there might be a chill in the air doesn’t mean you can’t stay warm during a winter wedding.
There are many ways you can help your guests keep warm from the ceremony to the cocktail hour, reception to the end of the night favors, there are fun and unique things to do to keep your guests cozy warm from the start of the night to finish.
A great way to both accent your ceremony space and keep your guests warm is to drape your seating with blankets. Knit, faux fur, flannel, the possibilities are endless.
Another cute idea is to have gloves or shawls waiting for your guests when they arrive. They can double as a favor that your guests will enjoy using not only at your wedding but also many times after always reminding them of the fun they had at your celebration.
Everyone loves a good cocktail hour; one way to bring in some extra warmth to your winter wedding is to have a cappuccino station or espresso bar, it provides your guest with that extra shot of deliciously warm goodness. If that doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, well, try tea! There are so many exotic and gourmet hot teas in world to pick from that will leave your guests nothing but impressed. You can even take it a step further by having an array of spices that they can infuse their teas with like clove, cinnamon, mint and so on. If you’re still not convinced, here are three words that everyone loves: hot apple cider. Spiced, spiked or just good old-fashioned caramel, this crowd-pleasing drink is something that everyone can enjoy.
Besides all the dancing everyone will be doing during the reception there will be those moments where those guests will need to catch their breath. How delightful will it be for them to pull up a chair next to their friends and family in front of a fire? Not only does a fire help create a gorgeous atmosphere, it’s a great conversation piece and literally warms you from the top of your head down to your toes. Candles, a fire pit or a fireplace, it doesn’t matter, as long as it makes you and your guests feel special.
If fire really isn’t your thing, a great alternative is the mushroom heater. It provides the same warmth as a fire and doesn’t take up that much space. They are a must for outdoor winter weddings.
Having warm cookies, personalized coffee cups fill with steaming coffee and tea and/or s’mores and hot cocoa favors are a really sweet way to make sure your guests leave with smiles on their faces and their bellies warm and full.
