When planning for your wedding, where do you turn to for inspiration? Wedding magazines? Blogs? Pinterest? Or stylish friends? While expert styling advice is many times needed, what if I told you that you could also be your own stylist and style inspiration? These days, I’ve been noticing more and more that wedding inspirations are not only in blogs or magazines but all around me everywhere I go.
In one instance, I was at West Elm shopping for new apartment furniture and noticed all the lovely displays they had set up all around the store. One table was filled with sea glass bottles and vases and driftwood that would make perfect wedding décor. Another table had a gorgeous assortment of succulents and different types of jars and containers. This was perhaps the first time I noticed that inspiration is everywhere.
Another instance was at my parents’ local lighting shop one day when I suddenly noticed all their flower displays scattered throughout the showroom. I had never thought twice about them before, but now they all served as potential wedding ideas. A few days after that while at HomeGoods, I saw some cool birdcage escort cardholders and giant wall clocks. I never thought in a million years that I would find things that could double as wedding décor in home furnishing stores, let alone HomeGoods.
Still another example was from a recent shopping trip I had to H&M. I noticed two pretty pale pink and blue dresses that I thought would be gorgeous for bridesmaids. So I quickly snapped a photo and checked the prices – both were just under $60!
So if you are planning a wedding and need inspiration, start noticing the everyday things around you and snap photos of anything that stands out. Let the world around you be your very own live Pinterest board. Happy planning!
