Notes from the Interns: More Weddings!

From intern Gina:

It was an iffy, cloudy morning the day of my second wedding. All I kept thinking was how I wish this weather would just hold out and become nice. Thankfully, it did! As I arrived to the bride's dressing location I met up with Regina and Patryk. Patryk showed me how to check the floral arrangement to make sure everything was correct. Soon after that, we were off to the groom. There I was responsible for making sure the men were dressed with their boutonnieres and ready for some group pictures. The boutonnieres were a bit tricky, but Patryk stepped in and made them look great. The ceremony was in a gorgeous church, when we arrived I set up the beautiful unity candle that was customized for the bride and groom as well as some decorations on the pews.

After the ceremony ended, Shekinah and I headed to the Old Westbury Gardens for bridal party pictures. I truly enjoyed being there during this because I felt that I was getting to know the bride and groom as well as the bridal party. The pictures and poses were great, the bride and groom were so calm! As soon as we were finished with their photos, we were on our way to the reception at The Fox Hollow. At this time I was working alongside Patryk to make sure the room looked the way it needed too. Together we checked each table to make sure everything was perfect, we made sure each guest received their favor, a customized wine bottle and chocolate truffles. I even got to help the staff create bows and sashes for the backing of the guest’s chairs. As time passed, the room was transformed and looked stunning. I really got the feel of what a busy, hands on wedding entails. The bride, groom and their families were so unbelievably kind, I enjoyed working with them. I was pleased that the tasks on my timeline for this wedding were able to be executed correctly to create a wonderful day for the bride and groom. I can’t wait for my next wedding in a couple of weeks!
