Pumpkin Spiced Latte: Shekinah's Inspired

From our intern Shekinah:

Alright, I’ve been waiting since I started my internship to make fall wedding inspiration boards. I love fall. I adore it. Nothing would make me happier than to live my life in an eternal autumn. There’s a clean crispness to the air, the weather is glorious, the natural colors are beautiful, the fashions are the best, it’s a time where I get to see my family a little more than usual (which is a good thing for me, luckily), my favorite produce is in season, my hair stays the way I blow dried it- I mean, life really doesn’t get much better for me than in the fall.

Anyway, some of you may say “but it isn’t officially fall yet.. blah blah blah”. BUT- there is something far more telling of the coming of the fall than what’s printed on our calendars or talked about on the Weather Channel. That’s right everyone…Starbucks has officially started selling their Pumpkin Spice Lattes again *cue heavenly music*. I had my first of many on Thursday and knew then and there that this week’s inspiration board had to be devoted to my little 16 oz friend. For this board, I wanted everything in it to be as rich, warm, and decadent as every calorie-laden sip of the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

I chose latte and cream as the main colors because there’s something a little regal about that quasi-monochromatic color palate (check out the centerpieces in the left corner for an example). Looking at the centerpieces again, you can see that fabrics can have a HUGE impact in a space so splurge a little for linens like the one in the bottom row, center. If you’re going to add a little bit of the “pumpkin” color element, keep it subtle like including it in your uplighting or using a muted version for table accents like chargers.

Dress your groom in neutrals, and you can even don an elegant sash with your dress (ps- I love how the bottom  of that  Jasmine Couture gown actually has the frothiness off a latte foam). There are a whole slew of latte colored bridesmaid dresses out, but I would choose one that is a slightly darker latte just to be more compatible with skin tones (you can check out the color-not necessarily the style- here).  Then you can give each of them that beautiful Etsy clutch as a gift.

In terms of food, you can have a lot of fun. Once again- you don’t have to go overboard, but maybe a pumpkin spice flavored cake (at least one of the layers), a coffee flavored icing, a pumpkin spice martini, or even an international coffee bar would be a nice addition. Enjoy and Bon Appetite!
