Classic Romance: Kate's Inspired

From intern Kate:

Each board that I have built over the last few weeks was inspired by one piece. Usually that one piece has been a dress. This week, however, my inspiration piece came from a cake topper.

I found this lovely cake topper in our very own Weddingstar shop. I immediately thought of an iconic picture of V-J day in Times Square (look at that, a cleverly inserted history lesson), which then brought me to the romances of the post-war era of the 1950’s.  I found this Henry Roth dress and have been itching to use it for quite sometime.  The classic 50’s style, modest ball gown is fun, flirty, and a modern twist on the traditional style. You can complete your look with a crystal headband and a great, classically styled shoe.  The best part about the shoe is if you aren’t a big fan of the flower, but you love the style, this show also comes in 15 different attachment choices.

This fabulous bridesmaid’s dress comes in a variety of colors from Dessy.com.

For d├ęcor ideas, a sweet palette of pinks can be a great choice.  Flowers such as roses or peonies, such as the ones featured in the bouquet, are great choices for romantic flowers. The centerpiece is classic, sophisticated, and romantic.  Luminaries add that extra romantic touch to your reception space. What could be more romantic than a candle lit dance?

Your cake should also reflect the romance of the evening and the modern touches to your classic fling.

All together you have you basic ingredients to tell the story of your classic romance.
