Love Locks on the Pont des Arts

While walking around the idyllic streets of Paris during my trip last week, I came across a romantic little spot. The Pont des Arts is a pedestrian bridge over the Seine River, and it is covered in hundreds of padlocks. The locks are in different shapes and sizes, but they have all been etched with dates and couple's names or initials.

For years lovebirds have been attaching the locks to the bridge and throwing the keys into the Seine - as a sign of never ending love. I took a picture for one young Italian couple securing their lock on the bridge, and couldn't help but feel all warm and fuzzy. Although Parisian officials have tried to clear the locks time and time again, couples keep returning to leave their hearts in the city of romance.
